where to get a tune?

Hi, I have an xcal2 sitting around from my last car(mustang) and I would like to buy a tune along with a CAI for my 04 150 STX 2wd, where would be the best place to get a tune and how much am I looking at for it? Thanks

Justin at www.VMPTuning.com will do a tune for $50. Turn around time isn't bad either.

He didn't mention that he wants to wait for months before he gets a tune.

I think the question is the best place he can get a tune! I didn't see anything about wait time.

x2 for Troyer Performance.

No, he did not mention a time frame, but he should be made aware of it. That's what we're here for.....

If he gave a more specific time frame that would help but he said "months" which is too general. It could mean 2-9 months which it is not. I think i.ride.suzuki has a different agenda than stating facts but that is my opinion and that is the reason for my comment. Please state facts. The OP should be able to make his own decision based on fact and not somebody else's opinion. The OP needs to make the best decision for himself.

The wait for Troyer tunes has been about 8 weeks but I don't know how long it is now. I waited exactly 8 weeks at Christmas. I also got a 3.5" AF1 CAI. I couldn't be happier.

It was vaguely expressed. 8 weeks seems like you are on my side rather than trying to counter-point me.

You waited ~56 days for tunes, others have waited longer, way longer. Tunes are taking UP TO ~14 days from VMP.

What are you talking about? I'd love to hear this, I really do.

I really don't think it's a good idea to go down that road. i.ride.suzuki and I both have experienced less than "praise worthy" experiences with Mike. We both know that it'll get this thread locked down pretty quickly, so lets not ruin the OP's thread.

i bet you would -maybe a sct employee will chime in-as with your tp experiences- it's not a perfect world huh-hence no perfect tuner exists-except the one that meets one's expectations

I agree completely but you still didn't answer my question. Just shoot me a PM so we don't ruin this thread. I'm confused as to what you're talking about.

I don't have control over what wasn't said by me ... But, I think what i.ride.suzuki was getting at was that the OP asked for who's the "best" person to get a tune from so he believed that to be the "best" place to get a tune, you shouldn't have to wait months to get it. Personally, I don't think either VMP or Troyer is better than another, they are both two of the best tuners in the world.
