XCal2 Problem ?

Just got a new XCal2 with a custom tune on it but think I may have
a problem. If I plug it in to my Lightning nothing happens it doesn't
light up with ignition off or on. The only way I can get it to come on
is by plugging the USB cable into my laptop. It comes on o.k. then I can read
the fault codes etc. Should it be like that ?
Cheers, Col

I don't think so. Mine comes on when it's plugged into the OBD2 alone.

Check you Cigarette Lighter if you have one, and see if it still get's hot. A while back I tried to use a Scan Tool, and had the same issue. Ended up being a blown fuse that controlled the Cig. Lighter, and the OBDII Port.

I would bet it's a fuse... Esp. since the unit powers up when connected to the computer.

Give that a shot and see what happens!

I agree with Racing2Fast, otherwise it's a fault device. I'd contact SCT after checking your fuses to see what they say. Seeing how it comes up with your laptop reinforces the idea that it's a blown fuse, etc.

Yep turned out to be the fuse after all. Number 3 in the fuse box below
the steering wheel. Got another problem Today, fitted a 6lb pulley and
a 90mm Maf, air filter and TR6 plugs. Uploaded my tune in the Xcal from
LFP but when I took it out it didn't want to go beyond 3500 revs, sounded
like it was breaking down. If I creep up the revs slowly it will go to the redline
but any sudden acceleration makes it break down. Throwing code P0107 MAP
Cir low, which I believe is low voltage result from MAP sensor located beside
the brake servo ? Not sure what to do about it though.

Glad it was just the fuse, and not an issue with the Tuner.

As far as the other issues your having. Im afraid I cant help with that. Im not familiar with supercharged motors, and the tunes, they use.

I would rec. talking with the guys you got the tune from and make sure it's not an issue with anything they did. Other than that Im lost as well!
