Troyer tunes-towing

OK, tried a search and didnt find what I was looking for. I read another thread that got me thinking about this. I have the 07 F150 with 5.4L V8 with K&N CAI, magnaflow SI/DO exhaust, and X3 with troyer tunes.

I know when towing heavy loads you turn off the O/D on a stock tune but what about with troyer tunes in 87 towing tune, do you still turn off O/D with a heavy load or does the tune handle the shift points and just leave O/D on.

This is just something I was curious about and wondered what everybody else does

thanks

generally its just a small trailor-maybe 2500 pounds at the max loaded, that im fine without O/D I know, Im looking for like if I have a full load of heavy firewood in the bed and then the trailor (5x10) fully loaded with heavy firewood, or a load similar, not sure of weight but I know its up there, or if I have a bed full of gravel or trailor fully loaded with gravel-again not sure of actual weight but I know its up there

Read your owners manual and treat you truck just like it was stock it will just perform better with your mods. If I'm not on the hwy. my o.d. is turned off. If I'm towing my trailor with my atv in it my o.d. is off but if I'm on a long flat stretch of hwy. I sometimes turn my o.d. on the main thing to remember is you don't want your tranny to continually be searching for gears.

O.D. only needs to be turned off if the trans is hunting for gears of the truck is coming out of lock-up while in O.D. Really too many variables are involved for us to just say X weight trailer requires O.D. to be turned off. Give it a shot and see, these engines develop good low end TQ and I have used O.D. when towing 8k +

How did it work out for you 2006M50B, doing the heavy tow? A-OK I’m sure, these trucks got nuts
