Roush Cold Air Intake

All,

I am a new 150online user and really haven't figured out how to post a question...so in hopes that I'm doing this right, here goes nothing...

Question 1...I have a Roush CAI installed in my truck along with FlowMaster true dual exhaust and the Superchips Flashpaq (2005 King Ranch 5.4 liter 4x4)...Does the CAI make the engine run lean? How do you tell?

Question 2...Can I have the tuner custom tuned to make adjustments for the truck running lean or should I go back to the OEM air intake? Assuming that it is running lean...

Question 3...Is Roush the same as the air raid?

Question 4...Is there anything else I need to add to increase performance?

Thanks in advance for all input and advice

PS still working on signature.

Hey welcome to the group I also have the Roush for my 4.6 and no it will not make it run lean however if you running the superchips im not sure if it will make it run lean being that it is usually made to run on stock motors. the intake Is made by airaid. What i would do is not go back to your stock intake and go with either Troyer or VMP for a custom tune , that definitely would be your best bet there As for increasing your power there are allot of things you can do. You could do Electric fans, Underdrive Pulleys, Headers Etc.
The e-fans and Pulleys are awesome i'm ordering them soon. They'll free up some HP's.

Chris49,

Thanks for info. How does Troyer do the custom tune? I mean do they take your Flashpaq and reflash it for a fee or would it be best to sell the Superchip and purchase a custom tuner from them all together?

I would sell your superchips and buy the Xcal2 or 3 with custom tunes from Troyer get the AF1 intake too if you got the $$

I agree except I wouldn't waste my money with the UDPs, I've heard too many comments about them not adding ANY power. I'd go with the custom tuning, electric fans, and headers. Here is the website to www.VMPTuning.com as well.
