Tp tunes are in...

Ok lets just say I am terrible with computers.....After 9 whole long cold weeks I received my TP tunes. Did I say yet to follow the instructions ? Once I figured out how exactly to get them from e mail to the X3 I stopped hitting the computer with my head. So I go and try to load them in my truck.....Trouble. I get a message that the file can't be opened. Pissed ? Yes. At this point the stock file should have been saved right? I get half way through loading 87 perf when the error message appears, The the x3 freezes.

So I called the great people at SCT for much needed help. The end result is that before you try to load your new tunes they said to make sure you have returned your truck to stock and then update your firmware. At that point you should be safe to load your new tunes. Turns out the fine people at SCT had to reformat my X3, then reload the latest firmware (1.33 I think).

That would have been just fine but along the way something happened to my stock file. So hours later the SCT people phoned me back with a new stock file to load onto the X3. Now the X3 is unlocked, the TP tunes are there and finally I have loaded 87perf onto my truck.

I guess after all that the point I want to make is make sure that before you do anything return to stock, update your firmware, download the tunes and the most important thing is read the F'n instructions.

A huge thanks goes out to the People at SCT and TP that spent their valuable time helping out a dope like me. The customer service was second to none. I would not think twice about recommending both of them. Now hopefully the roads around here are good enough to try the new tunes out.

Things should be a lot better now that all the new X3s are shipping with a much better firmware.

hmmm thats weird. I just loaded mine last night and i didn't change it back to stock. The load from the x3 to my truck was the easiest part.
