1.what the heck is an equizzer
2.do any tuners take and turn up the maf
3.is there anything to be gained by messing with the variable cam
4.how much torque management is removed when tuning.

1.equizzer monitors the drive by wire system
2.turn up the maf?/you can adjust the MAF xfer curve
3.not really, there are some little tweaks but nothing huge.
4.depends on the tuner/but you can turn it off completely, the shifts are hard.

Some of this stuff is self explanatory, but if you guys have any questions on how anything works in the PCM feel free to ask.

i have tuned my 2002 chevy with hp tuners. not sure how much people actually tuned on these trucks. have been thinking about trying it myself but so far i am happy with my vmp tunes. of course the chevy truck i had had all bolt ons plus heads and cam along with a 175 shot. also a 4l80e in her instead of the 60 that i broke. as soon as i got the built tranny i removed all torque management. how much can be removed safely in our trucks without doing tranny work.

Check with Justin, but VMP should send you a base file to work off of if you want. You would only have to pay for the software as you already have the hardware.

TP's tunes does the job; bottom line

You know, my F150 is not my daily driver. If someone could point me in the direction of where to get the software and how to put it on my truck, I would be willing to tinker with it. :o I'd let you all know how it goes. I've learned alot of things just by trying it and seeing where it goes.

only a couple years now

it all started when i called and asked troyer a long time ago if i could control my transmission a certain way, he laughed at me and said the PCM can not do that. well he was wrong and i was able to do exactly what i wanted based on TQ control of the transmission and driver demand params along with some other modifcations.

so really have no respect for someone telling me i cant do something, when i really i could.
