Headers, High Flow Cats....Edge handle that??

Hey guys,

I'm wanting upgrade my exhaust to headers and some high flow cats on my 05 5.4L and was wanting to know if the Edge will be able to compensate for the added flow and minus the 2 extra cats? (current mods in sig)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
My plan right now is to pick up some:
Pacesetter Long tube headers (link) (yes I hear they rust out but, I plan on getting the Armor Coated ones which hopefully should last longer)
3" High Flow Cats, one for each bank (link)
Then have my exhaust guy fab up some 3" intermediate pipe back to the 3" Magnaflow system.
Example Pic...(quick MS paint mockup)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Does that sound feasible for the Edge??

Thanks for all the help

Andy

if you are going to install headers I would run a true dual exhaust an not choke it down to y-pipe single muffler.

I ran my true duals on the factory tune and a K&N drop in and it ran great produced 255RWHP

I didn't want to hassel with getting a whole new cat back system or I would do something like that.

I just needed to know if the Edge would lean things out to much with the opened up flow.

Thanks
Andy

I am not getting this.....You are going to install headers and are worried about the Edge running lean correct???? If there was a lean condition I do not think it would be caused by the exhaust. I think a lean condition is caused by an intake. If you are really worried about it could'nt you install some wide-band O2 sensors, that way you could watch the temp of the exhaust. Again I just dont understand how the exhaust could cause the truck to run lean.

Exhaust increases VE.
High VE more air flow into the engine,
PCM compensates for more air flow.
So as long as the intake is "tuned"
in combination with the engine you
are good to go.

Got it? Get it? Good.
