Question about programers
Question about programers
Are they any programmers out there that are not VIN protected?
I have 4 friends and we all have the same truck f150 Screw's all with the 5.4. Is there one programmer we could buy and use to program our trucks with???
Thanks.
Also will the year of the truck matter?
Me 2004 FX4 5.4
Buddy 1 2005 5.4
Buddy 2&3 2005 5.4
Buddy 4 2006 5.4
Thanks
Jon

These guys might be able to provide what you are looking for:http://www.hptuners.com/products/vcmsuite.php
One thing to watchout for is Ford uses so many different PCMs for even the same year truck/car and that makes some tuners noncompatable with one truck and work ok with another of the same year.

The only tuner I can think of that isnt vin specific is the Edge Evolution-you can use it on multiple trucks-but only one at a time, each tuner can only store on factory tune in it, so as far as I know- No you can not use one tuner to do 4 trucks at one time(besides for the price custom tunes are the way to go)
Hi Jon,
Plain and simple, no, there is no tuner that can work on multiple vehicles at the same time - period. Even if they were all 2006 F-150's with the exact same configuration, just for example - and yes, model year does indeed matter.
Not only would that destroy the ability to recoup the huge investment it takes to invent, design & develop the hardware & firmware and then of course, all the tuning, and thus put all such companies out of business - but that also eliminates the ability to do the most basic required thing, which is to store the stock factory tune of each vehicle.
So when you want a tuner for a vehicle, each vehicle needs it's own tuner.
And the HP route is not going to work either, as not only is their Ford F-150 database thin compared to other tools that exist that we have worked hard to get developed to allow proper tuning on these trucks, but each model year alone the F-150 has hundreds of different strategies, unlike any other vehicle.
The tuning market is geared for multiple different tunes for each vehicle, so that they have enhanced capabilities and flexibility to allow the vehicle owner to be able to do whatever they need to day in and day out, and have optimized tunes for each type of use. That is actually something that we pioneered many years ago, when we got the oldest chipmakers to make multiple program-capable chips, just FYI, as we have never believed in a single-program solution.
There are many reasons why each vehicle needs it's own tuning device, these are just a couple of the more obvious & important ones.
Now if you guys are interested in getting tuning for your vehicles, we'll be happy to work out a deal so that you can all get a tuner for each truck at a great price, and that will also get you the best tuning available for the F-150 - just give us a quick call at our number listed below, and tell my staff that I asked you to call me personally, OK?
Best of luck with your trucks!

Price List
Hi Superchips_Distributor,
Early last summer I could have sworn that you posted some sort of price list out there for your tuners. I'm looking to get one in the near future and wanted to warn the wife of the expense. I'm looking to improve performance as well as squeeze a little better gas mileage. Any info is appreciated.
