Just do the 4.6 intake mod and pull out the inner tube.

A quick search should bring up some post. The intakes have a restrictive rubber piece that once removed provides a noticeable increase in acceleration. Its a free mod, so worth doing if ya got some time and tools

The best tune for you truck would be a custom tune from TP (IMO); I’ve been using Mikes stuff, trouble free, since 2004 on my truck; I highly recommend

Basically, remove the inlet snorkel from the intake tube. This is the piece that goes from the fender to the "accordion" flex tube. Once removed, you can replace it with a piece of PVC pipe.

Good luck.

'05 4.6L here.

Trade out your flowmaster for a magnaflow or borla / roush cat-back.

Toyer's tunes on Xcal 2 or 3.

AF1 intake.

You'll think you've got a brand new truck, no kidding.

Just those three mods make one hell of a difference... then there's everything else you can do after that.. lol..
