If you are getting a canned tune, then you don't need to provide any info, they do make a few cannned tuners that work with the V-6. If you are after custom tunes, then you will need to provide the PCM code, the vin # and fill out the worksheets with detailed info about your truck, mods done, maintainence history, driving style and what kind of tunes you would like to have.

i was looking at this one. does that price include his tunes. i would probably chose 87 gas saving, 87 towing, and 93 performance tunes.

how would this be on a 4.2. would it be comparable to a v8 unprogrammed??

Yes, it does, but Mike is now shipping X-Cal 3's instead of 2's. As a member of F 150 Online you get a discount from them if you provide your screenname.

Talk to Mike and he can give you a better idea of what kind of gains to expect on a V-6.

I don't think you'll go wrong with ordering a tuner from Troyer. Just about everyone here on the boards loves theirs. I recently ordered one. I hope to be just as happy. About the only bad thing is the wait time, but it's well worth it from what I here. I'm hoping that mine will come sometime in Jan.
