I've had my edge4 for a little over a week now and its been working great, monday morning i go to start the cookie jar and no edge, screen wont show or anything i "R.T.F.M and followed step by step still nothing. I also try to hook it up to the laptop and nothing there either. guys help please!!!!

 

Start your truck and plug it in again and see if the screen comes up. If it doesnt call Edge or see if Bill can help.

 

stories like this make me wonder why they released this tuner before all the bugs were worked out-i wonder which idividual is reposible for this-this is totally unacceptable imho-phil

well, looks like i have to ship it out to edge so they can find out whats wrong with it, which sucks, i tried everything i could, checked fuses, removed negative battery cable, took apart dash to make sure wires haven't been fried or tangled and still no edge, so now the wait

A couple times a month my screen goes blank. Nothing changes performance wise. All I have to do is unplug it and replug it in again and all my settings are the same as when it went off. Not sure why it does this but it is a simple fix.

 

I have this problem too. So I called edge and they gave me an RMA# to ship it back. The tech support Tech said I had the "OLD Hardware" based on my manufacturing date of June 2006. (I bought this thing in Feb 2007). So I sent it in last Thursday and we'll see if it makes a difference. Pretty frustrating plugging it in and out all the time because of it freezing.

 

The only fuse you need to check is the one for the OBD/CIG lighter. They are hooked up together. If the cig lighter(the one in the middle under the hvac) dont work than your Edge isnt going to work.

 

I had the same issue. Sent it back more than a week ago. Got it today - plug it in... nuthing! No display, no lights, nothing. Anybody ever have this problem when you first got the Edge?

Sad thing was the UPS guy delivered it at 4:45 p.m. At 5:02 p.m. I realized I had to call Customer Service at Edge - yep you guessed it they were gone at 5:00 p.m.

Check the fuse for the cig lighter/obd port if it is blown then the Edge display will NOT light up

Had this problem with mine when I first got it replaced the blown fuse no more issues .

All so check your connections on the edge and on the obd port.

If it works via a pc connection, but not on the OBDII port, it's the fuse, usually.

If you get bupkis on neither, it's a doorstop - send it back.

I did notice that my cig lighter isnt working so i went to wally world (wal mart) and got some fuses bad news is edge not working , but good news is my cig lighter is working & i saved a lot of money by canceling my geico insurance and going with progressive today!!!

 

FWIW, mortality rate of electronics tends to be worse in the first 90 days of use. Most companies burn in boards and all hoping to contain issues before they leave their production floor, but it's not a 100% effective.

My guess is you've just got something that took a dump. Send it back and hopefully they'll send you a new one.
