Edge Help needed

Im having LOTS of trouble with the used edge I bought...

Here whats happening...

First things first, I installed the software, and installed the drivers, and i go and launch the Lightning software, then connect my Edge....and it just doesn't recognize it.

I figured, maybe it hadn't been restored it to defaults, and then tried again, no luck.

I figured, maybe it will still work now....So i go and plug it in in my truck and follow all the direction etc. etc...

I go to pick my tunes, and pick Level 2, and it gives me error code: b1.

Something along the lines of my vehicle isn't supported or something..

This is in an 07 F150....

Any ideas?

I guess I'll have to go get it, but it did give me a hex code...

That and my truck had the "Engine Failsafe" life come on.....

return to stock, not return to defaults, do not try anything untill you are able to update it. He wants your hex code to see if your vehicle is supported by Edge. It doesn't like your hex code right now since it doesn't work. Turn off anti-virus software, what computer system are you running? edit=and reboot computer if you haven't yet

I'm no expert but that looks like the right code. Now we need to find the thread by ASEmechanic, he has all the hex files, he is also the MAN who wrote the programing for the Edge. I believe he is gone for the week, but he is the one to talk to for help. Lets go look for the thread.

You will more than likely have to update the unit.

But it is supported...

How do i set it back to stock?

Is that just going into the main menu and hitting restore to defaults?

You really need to follow the manual or you may end up messing something up. To reutrn to stock means going back to the main menu and selecting program "0", the stock program that you had in your truck. Restoring defaults is a way to save custom settings within Level 2 and level 3 so that you don't have to reenter them every time you want to change one item. Two different things altogether.
