oohhhhhh yeah, it was hot and steamy....

well, i must say im thoroughly impressed. few things i noticed right away...

obviously, WOT roars and is much quicker, especially off the line, no more of that throttle response lag that the stock tune has.

second, the different throttle positions are great. you can barely touch the gas and never go over 1.5k RPM yet you STILL have power, and can keep your mileage up. Mid throttle has tons more power over stock, and obviously higher thottle really pulls hard.

What i am most impressed with (and most happy about) is the transmission. It never lags, never has to think before switching gears, and does it much quicker. there is power at every throttle position, which is great. It also shifts a lot smoother, and progressively firmer as you increase throttle.

I have not been on the highway yet so i cant give any feedback on passing power and 2nd gear pulls up high, but ill get back to y'all once i do get out on the highway this weekend for a hunt.

Excellent customer service from Troyer Performance.

PS this was on the 87 performance tune, i havent even tried premium yet.

and since the A/F ratios are online now, there is sufficient fuel going into the engine at all times, which does increase the volume of the exhaust, the flows are noticeably louder, which is great.

its very simple to load them, TP will send you directions with your tunes, but basically you download a program from the SCT site, and you use that program to upload the tunes to your Xcal2 through the USB.

Sweet. I'm getting the AF1 along with the tuner so they gave me a deal for the whole package, $675 shipped to my door. Not too bad IMO

not bad at all, you'll love the intake/tuner combo. the intake adds sound too, but get a muffler swap or a cat-back system so you can HEAR your performance!

which size AF1 did you get??

I;m just gonna do a magnaflow swap for the sock muffler. How much do those usually run?

you could easily get it done for 150-200. the muffler shouldnt cost you more then 100 bucks and the shop wont charge didly for the swap, maybe 50-80 bucks if they have to add pipe.

Can i make a suggestion?? if you're going with magnaflow, get the 14" "magnapack" muffler, 2.5" in/out. this muffler is a round one with 4" diameter, and its their best performing muffler, and will give out decent sound compared to their other stuff. trust me, thats the one you want.

I want to just bolt it up myself if I could rig it up. Don't wanna pay to have it welded up and charged out the *** around here.

well its not that simple, a muffler swap requires welding. all aftermarket mufflers are going to be smaller then the massive 30" stock muffler, so you will need to add a little extra pipe to compensate for the shorter muffler.

buy your magnapack online, then take it to a local shop that is NOT mainstream (a.k.a. not meinke or midas, they will charge you a ton) and get price quotes and go with the best one. i got my entire system welded together for only $160 (for dual pipes all the way out) so im sure you can find someone to weld up a muffler +a foot of piping for dirt cheap.
