Which of these programmers is better for a canned tune. Edge evo or superchips 1815? Which one would you prefer on your truck. Base your decision on performance and reliability. Don't count the gages on the evo. Thanks.

 

i have a 01 5.4l and i like the evo it has many things you can adjust and it gives u noticeable power if you use the custom tunes with the canned tune i noticed a little but not a lot

 

Haven't had the SC, but I love the EDGE and have never had any problems with it since last March. Sorry I don't have a comparo for you.

You mentioned reliability as a criteria.

With that in mind, up until very recently, I would have said SC 1815, no question. Edge support is virtually non-existant as you may have read.

However, with Bill on the job, the reliability issues are being addressed.

My only remaining concerns revolve around having the only really effective support being provided by another party - NOT the manufacturer. And of course the restrictions on mods, since the tunes are not designed to accommodate such.

There is also the SCT / Xcal2 alternative - custom tuning, for the same price - this to me is extremely compelling.
