Troyer tuning question????

Hey guys i have had this tuning for a month or so now and i would like to find some stuff out? I have a 04 crew 5.4 i got 87 perf 87 tow and 93 perf tunes from them. I run only sunoco and mobil fuel. I think somethings up? When i take off about just under half petal the truck takes off real good but when the tach hits 2800 or 2900 its like you hit afterburners the af1 gets really loud and this thing goes but it feels like its struggling kinda broken. Full petal rips. Are your trucks doing this burst thing?? Another thing my OD is useless at anything under70mph. Also when normal driving and it shifts from 1 to 2 to 3 it falls on its face when it shifts then starts to pull. Thanks for any input and i`m going to call troyer this week anyway. Maybe datalogging!!!!:santa:

About 2800 RPM my AF1 starts howling. But all open air intakes are noisy. IF you search bar and find research on AF you will find its normal. MY trucks takes off about 2800 rpm. When I'm pulling my camper or climbing a hill its starts howling. At first it drove me crazy, but I got use to it.

My AF1 gets loud based on % throttle input, not a particular rpm. It does get louder as rpm's increase but it's linear. Also I have no surging and OD pulls ok from 50+, decent from 60+ and then very good from about 70+ with tc staying locked. Getting from 45 to 70 in OD is not what anyone would mistake as quick but it's better than stock for sure and works for normal driving. Maybe MGD or someone has advice, otherwise datalogging would be the next step. Either way something doesn't sound right.

Yeah, something's off there I'd think.. I've only had the same tunes you have for a week and a half - 87 perf is all that I've run yet - but the power is smooth across the entire band..

I think a call to troyer is in order, datalogging as well, if only to have a record of what's going on...

Good luck, and let us know what the results are..

I also have an 04 screw 5.4 and got 87 perf, 87 tow and 91 perf tunes along with 3.5 AF1 from Troyer about 3 weeks ago. I know exactly what you are talking about. Mine does the same thing (91 perf tune), at about 2900 rpm, it finally "takes off" almost like at lower rpms the a/f ratio is not correct. Then at 2900 rpms it corrects it's self. I saw a post from Troyer the other day stating he made a few changes in the programming....hmmm....guess I will have to give them a call as well. That being said, I must say, even with that blurp, it far better than running stock or bamachips tune.
