Troyer tune question?
Troyer tune question?
Are the improvements only at WOT like most tuners. Or are the changes noticed during everyday driving? Are there performance gains at part throttle and is engine power noticed through the entire rpm range? I used my truck for a daily drive and work horse. Not as a 1/4 mile flier.
Fill me in guys.

i have had my tues for just over 1 week and it has completely transformed my truck. the improvements are all the way from initial throtle response all thw way to the to top speed. it will pull as long as you have your foot in it. you will notice a huge differance just in regular town driving. now that i have one i will never be without again. money well spent.
Like cdnance said they totally change the way it performs. The biggest improvements from the tunes are in the transmission and part throttle response as well as basically the whole power band but especially mid range. Put it all together and everyday driving is THE biggest improvement imo. Mine's an everyday driver used for work as well and I did the Troyer/AF1 3.5-inch intake. My truck is basically my 2nd office and I expect it to work like a dog with no complaints whether it be idling for 2 hours in 90 degree temps and then pulling a triple axle pump to the next site, taking my girl out to dinner, messing around with the throttle pinned to the floor, or just a Sunday drive. I've only had the set up a little over a week but doing all of the above have 0 complaints so far. They will make your truck a lot of fun to drive whether it be work or play.
x3.. I've only had my tunes a few days now and the performance over stock is just amazing from take-off all the way up to WOT.
I'd also agree that the shift points and firmness are the best thing about it. It's nice how the firmness of the shifts depend on how much your foot's into the throttle.
I've only hit WOT a couple of times since the tunes, and only briefly, but I'm guessing I'm able to rev a little higher now as well because my exhaust really roars now at wot, moreso than it did.

That was my question too...
Is the whole fuel curve adjusted ? or just at WOT?
I understand how the shift firmness and shift point tuning will help driveability, but are they adjusted for regular driving and WOT?
I have the Banks CAI and exhaust, and am considering their programmer - but there isn't much actual information about what their programmer does and doesn't do. So I am leaning towards the XCal II or the Livewire.

And that's actually what Troyer's tunes are known for; not just performance at WOT, lots of tuners can do that, but performance across the entire curve..
I'd recommend to anyone to go with Troyer tunes.. there is some wait time but you will not regret how the truck drives once ya get 'em...
