Troyer Questions

Ok so new to the whole performance aspect of my truck, 2006 F 4.6 Supercab, and just curious what I need to know or should know before I order my Troyer Tune. I have a few questions also.

-What is the difference in the Tow and Performance??
-Do they do a custom tune for each truck, or do you just pick the tunes, like 87 perf. or 87 tow??
-Any idea how long the wait is??
-And if the price is the same as the Edge Evo, then why doesn't everyone have the Troyer Tune??

a) a towing tune will tune your truck for better towing capability and performance while towing. a performance tune is a tune for your truck that will help it perform better during every day driving, even while hauling in the bed.

b) they do custom tunes for each truck. you tell them what tunes you want (like 87 perf. or 87 tow or 91 etc) and they send you sheets getting all the info on YOUR truck, then they writes tunes specifically for your rig.

c) the wait is up to 10 weeks + now

d) see answer to letter c

When Troyer writes a towing specific tune, one of the major factors he works on is getting lower exhaust temps. You can tow with any of M.T.'s tunes safely without doing any harm to the engine.

As far as what tunes to get, some of the more popular ones are.... economy, performance, and towing. You can have them custom tailored to any type or brand of gasoline and any octane level and any driving style. If you have any major mods (like ported heads, cams, large cold air intake) Mike will compensate for them in the tunes.

Once you decide what your primary use of the vehicle will be, and what type and/or brand of fuel you will use, then you can decide what tunes you want.

Also, if you travel a lot into areas with off-brand gas of unknown quality, Mike can even write you a "bad gas" tune to keep your truck safe.

I can't say because I've never had Troyer tunes but I know of two people who have had both and they like their VMP Tunes for the drive ability and better times. Wait is only about 2 weeks, most get them in about a week though. It just really matters how busy he is with projects or his baby.
