Notice a change with the EDGE?

So a friend has a 99 F-150 and got a lift and some 35's. He noticed a significant power loss so he got new headers followed by a cold air intake and is disapointed he didn't notice any power increase. Will getting the edge and programming tire size and shift points get him at least a noticable amount of power back or should he scrap that and regear!

Thanx guys!

For that config - yup, especially if you go really deep.

You'll still want to consider a tuner, preferably custom, to correct for the shift points, gearing, tire size changes.... and the added grunt won't hurt a bit, either

Now then, I am going to be replacing my stock wheels on my 04 SCREW. I am just going to get 33's. Will the edge take care of any, all my issues with power loss?

You really shouldn't have to much of a power loss with 33's. The Edge or any other tuner for that fact will just give you more umph!!!!! and really waken up your truck. Be sure to use the search feature on this site as there are answers here that you could ever hope for!

The Edge will help but keep in mind that the Edge canned tune doesnt tune for Intake and Exhaust and he will probably run lean. Thats what happen to me. As stated a custom tune will help out a lot more.

I want to point out for others to read, that the thinking that Headers and Air intakes do anything for***** "this kind of application" ***** is foolish thinking and is a waist for anything but looks and coffee talk, as the owner has found out.
Every time I say it, there is always someone who tries to say different and misses the pont.
It's the application,... not running at 5000 rpm were there 'might' be a small gain from those changes.
The factory exhaust and intake is good enough for this application.

LOL. . I don't have headers but I do have a different exhaust and intake. The dyno proves you wrong time and time again.

Ditto... there ARE intake/exhausts out there that probably aren't worth spending $$$ for the minimal gains, if any at all. But, there is no way in hell one can say that certain exhaust set-ups, intakes, headers, etc. won't give you more hp/tq. It's pretty much been proven on anything from a rice rocket to our gas-guzzling tanks we drive. Cheers

And btw for ********** This type of application********** I too would suggest gears and a custom tune. Troyer has a great rep. around here.
