Best Tuner for Towing?

I have a 03 Screw, 4.6L, 2WD, 3.55 and I am going to be towing a 5000lb TT. I would like to get opinions on who makes the best tuner that will help with towing. A little more power, low end torque, and better shifting is what I am looking for. I am putting in a AF1 intake if that makes any difference. Also, what price range should I be expecting for a good tuner?

Thanks,

I owuld go 4:10's if your looking for a big differance. Especially since you have the 4.6. If your looking for custom tuning then it would be mike but youll have to wait. Other than that edge makes a big differance... I have one. Also i have heard good reviews abbout some of the superchip models. But the best improvment would be regearing the rearend.

I can tell you that getting rid of those miserable 3.55 gears and going with 4.10 limited slip made a world of difference in my old 98 2wd with 4.6. I stayed with the stock tire size. Towing my 5,000+ lb is now a whole lot better. You get that added torque multiplication everywhere and all the time.

Gears and custom tuning will be the real deal, then you can clean up the shifting on that 4r70w. Fortunately, I was able to clean my shifting with a Centerforce dual friction clutch and Troyer's custom tuning.

Best of luck

How you like that duel friction??? I put the regular center force in mine and i love it but even still i can out perform the clutch when i get on her. If i slam 3rd it grinds a bit if im trying t oget a good 1/4 mile time. I was thinking about gettting the DF

The duel friction is a whole lot better than stock. The stock clutch slipped terrible when I tried to back my boat up into my driveway. The duel friction doesn't slip when I back the boat in now. If I was smart, or if I had more free time, I should mount a receiver on the front of the truck, so I could drive the boat up into the driveway.

With the duel friction clutch and the 4.10 gears I can spin the rear tires when pulling the boat and starting out from a stop light. I run Bridgestone Deuler Revos on my truck and the're pretty sticky for an all season tire -- not a drag radial, but a tire I like.

Yeah.... I do a lil bit of off raoding and with the stock it was hard to control the power in some places but with the centerforce i have way more control. And it is a tough clutch. Deffintly worth the money. But like i said it just isn't quick enough while im gettin in 3rd. If i replace it again i will put a DF in i think. I should have buckled down and spent the 200 extra.
