$ 1,000

OK, I have about $1,000 to fix up my truck in the performance area what is the best way to go? I already plan on getting the edge tuner but what else can I do with in this price range? 06 F150 5.4 4x4

That should be enough to get your Edge, plus a cold air intake and exhaust, if you shop around and get the best price. Good luck!

Well - you did say 'performance', right?

So -

If yer gonna chew up almost half of that on a canned tuner, you should consider custom instead. Far better results, for the same or even less cost.

Also - you can get a package deal on the 'big three' from TP, with a F150Online member discount applied.

Big Three: SCT Xcal2, AF1 3.5", Maggie 3" SS catback.

That specific combo has be proven to produce stellar results.

Search for more - a LOT more - info on this....

He's talking about getting a package deal from Troyer perf!
I went that route and got the Xcal2, 3 custom tunes, 3"AF1 and a Roush catback system shipped for right around $1100.00. Call them up and see what they can offer you. Or call the edge people up and see what kind of package they can offer.
Good luck

Did you have to 'datalog' your truck? The reason I ask is that mine is new (07 w/less than 300miles) and all stock except for a level kit (front and AAL in rear) and larger tires. Note:I did not have to 'datalog' my new, stock set-up in 03' when I bought the stage 1 package.

If you did have to 'datalog', how hard was it? I'll admit I'm a noob here...

Thanks guys-

Hi.

No, you don't have to; MT nails it pretty much every time on the first iteration.

If you wish to do this (and you should discuss this with them at length), you get the fully documented procedure with the tuning.

It's not really hard at all, but it is something that needs to be done with care & preparation - hell if I can do it ...

There's a few posts/threads on here that cover it a bit too... search for 'em if you wish.
