To Edge or not to Edge?

Hi all.

Was thinking of buying a edge evolution for my 04 FX4 5.4. Now i don't toe or race it or anything. Just like to look cool in my sweet ride cruising around. I mostly use it to go to work and back.

Now my question is would it be a waste of money to put one in considering i don't do a lot with it? or should i put one in just for the performance improvements better fuel economy.

Any pros and cons to putting one in. Also is it easy to install it your self or do you need a electrical engineering degree.

Thanks.

There are no cons to putting on in. ONLY the price. Youll see things like more power. More throttle response. Better MPG. Better torque. IT makes the truck fun to drive agian. Plus it just looks sweet with the guages on the dash. You can make it any color you want.

It makes it worth it just to have the guages.

I would say go for it. Best mod for teh money i ever did.

I was really hesitant at first because I use my truck the same way you do. Anyway, I am extremely happy with my Edge. I've had no issues at all. I could not believe the difference between stock and what a simple little tuner like this can do to wake our trucks up. I also love being able to monitor several different components as well as being able to read DTC's and change my odometer if I go with larger tires.

love mine but I'm tired of looking at it or worrying about someone swiping it. I think its either going in the ash tray or under the arm rest till I need it.

I'v never been concerned about it being stolen. The tinted windows help some, I guess, but just never really given it much thought.

Its the easyest install you ever have seen. Some double sided tape and one wire that plugs in under your dash. No splicing, soldering, or cuting. ITs so easy and only takes ten min.

I might remove it but the program will still be running. I have the xl with no options, so leaving the windows down and the doors unlocked is normal. The Edge is currently zip tied to the ussless check book compartment under the ash tray, when I'm worried about it I pull the ash tray out and it dissapears.

A little punctuation and this comment might make a little sense.

Do a search on "Custom Edge settings" or a similar request, you should find lots to read.
