Hypertech

Iwas looking at a use hypertech a found a good deal my question is does it need to be unlocked or can it be used from truck to truck?

the original vehicle has to be retunred to "stock" settings otherwise you have to send the tuner into hypertech and they will charge you to onlock it for use on your vehicle

just my two cents here i had the hypertech and wasnt impressed at all...i sold it and got the edge

I don't hear much good about hypertech. +1 for getting an Edge.

on the 2 valve 5.4's the hypertech is a good tuner (only can do WOT shift adjustments and only 2 octane levels for the fords), I know from experience since I had one but I wanted more stuff so I upgraded to an Xcal2 for the custom tuning options. I have never messed with an edge but fellers on here seem to love them

ditto rrch129....i just had the hypertech max energy, not bad on increased power but not enough to make a difference when towing a 5500 lb travel trailer, and my mpg didnt increase it actually went down a little.....i returned mine and am going with the edge
