Question Edge trouble - Advice

Today after work I went to program my truck in our parking lot , thought no big deal ,done this a few times already and like to check out the settings during the 1/2 hour drive home.. Well on the last file as the Edge was writing it froze up @ 17%.. So I sat there for 45 minutes thinking it would just start loading the tune and nothing, so I switched off my key.. And tried to start my truck and nothing it would just turn over and not start... So needless to say I called a local tow service had my truck towed to Villa Ford my local dealer by our shop and in the morning I'm having my PCM re-flashed by the dealer...Now what am I to do with the EDGE, will it still be locked up? How can I fix it? is it broken ? any advice , has this happend to you?

Mine has frozzen a lot. Every time i just unpluged it and redid the tune. I was always able to reload the program and try again. Never tried to start it after it frooze. I just went straight to unpluging it and redoing the tune. Might want to try that before the dealer works on it. MIght save you some green. It wont hurt.

Did you try to unplug it
that always worked. Thats what edge told me to do

I have talked to them twice about it freezeing and i even sent it back. ITs due to a lack of power. Still does it on mine

MOst of the time mine doesn't even turn on. I just take it with a grain of salt. I unplugit everytime i need to make a change and its off or frozzen

I wouldn't worry about it. Go and unplug it and plug it right back in. Then try and program it again. IT will save you some hassle.

Yes I unpluged it and pluged it in a few times and the dam thing was still froze saying 17% , then it said waiting for it to "initialize please wait" I waited 45 minutes, but that may have been after i turned off the key... Anyways Now I'm leary of even trying to attemp programming again... I hate these hassle's, The Edge worked great up to this moment, I'm hoping I can send this unit back and get a new one, I will contact edge tomorrow... I just hate to try again and have to waste 75 bucks on a tow and 100 bucks for the dealer re-flash, **** they may even try to tell me my PCM is burned up... I just want my edge to work like it did before... I was happy with it....

Thumbs up

Just got my truck back from Ford, total with towing and re-flashing $230.50... Talked to Kenny over at EDGE and he was very helpful , gave me a RMA# to return my unit to exchange it for a new one... He said maybe the reason why my EDGE locked up was because my voltage dropped to low while programming, I do have my amps drawing power when my key is on, so I will pull my main fuse off the battery so they will not work while I program and hook up a battery charger also to make sure there are no drops in voltage, so I will give mt EDGE one more shot, if it happens again I will e-bay my EDGE for $230.00 the cost of having it towed and re-flashed again....
