JET chip
JET chip
Hi all, a buddy of mine got a new 04 superduty and his old 97F150 he is getting rid of. He gave me his JET Power Control Module to plug into my truck to see if I liked it, if I like it I can have it for cheap.
My question is, would this be a decent chip to try on my truck and buy for cheap from him? ($25) he wants.
Thanks!

If it is the correct chip, then yes it's worth the $25. I saw a slight increase in HP and better MPG (about 2 miles). They are really easy to install, just plug and play into the ECU underneath the passenger kick panel.
Also, I bought mine for $50 off of a member on here, used it for 4 months and then sold it on Ebay for no reserve for $75
. So, even if you don't like it, chances are you could make a small profit if you resold it. They aren't worth the $300 or so they try to sell them for new (IMHO), I wouldn't even pay $100 for it, but you will be able to tell a difference from stock. Again, just make sure the model # on it is compatible with your engine and year of your truck. If it is, pick it up / $25 is a steal.
Hi jk007 Yeah we have the same year, same engine, same truck. I just got it and plugged it into the ECU. cleaned the white gummy stuff off of the ECU connectors before I plugged it on. I also, before I plugged it on , disconnected my battery to reset the computer, just for good measure. Started it up, let it run and took it for a spin. It does have alot more "umph" to it, but nothing terribly mindblowing. I wouldn't pay $100 for it either!
