Edge...belt slipping

Hey,

Sorry for this question again, I know it's been covered but I just searched and can't find any related threads to it.

Just installed the EDGE over this past weekend. AT least one of my belts are slipping when I slam on the gas. I thought the Gator belts solved this problem but I can't be sure. Can someone let me know if I need to replace both belts or just one, should use a Gator and how hard is the install to do myself.

Thanks,

It,s common with a tuner.A gatorback belt normally stops it.Your truck only has one belt and you need a big a$$ breaker bar to loosen the tensioner, lots of pressure.Very easy to change, diagram under the hood.

My shifting is set to very hard, and the belt slippage is very loud at WOT, though it kinnda sounds like a BOV at lower RPM shifts. I'll prolly get a Gator belt when I get underdrive pulleys.

What exactly is slipping?

You need the Gatorback serpentine belt:

JK007, I like how your truck looks. I had a body lift for mine but I sold it because I could not find any pictures of trucks that I liked the look of them with the body lift. I wish I would not have sold it now. Those 35's look pretty good. Sorry to get off subject.

hey thanks man, I appreciate the compliment. I had a 2 tone 2000 Scab with same colors as your Screw. I through a PA 3" BL on it but then totaled the truck a month later in a 20 car plie up in MI. I was hesitant on getting a Screw only because I thought my Scab was the perfect size and I wasn't sure how a Screw would look. My wife actually talked me into the Screw (we have a 3 year old and 6 month old). I am SOOOOOO glad she did. Not only do I think it looks good with a BL on it, but I love the extra room in the back.

The only thing that I don't like is the 5' bed but honestly, I've had this truck since Feb and I have not needed the extra foot for anything. 2 things I can pretty much bet on:

1. I'll always own a Screw and won't go back to a Scab
2. I'll always have at least a BL on any new truck I get.

I just hope this one lasts longer than my last one. If you are considering a BL lift again for your Screw, you should do it. I love mine.

Take care buddy,
