Edge or just bad injectors?
Edge or just bad injectors?
So on Monday my truck threw a couple codes and started idling rough. It was running rich on bank 2 and misfiring on cylinder 6. I've been running an Edge Evo on lvl 2 for a year or so now with no problems, so I cleared the codes and flashed it back to stock to see if it that would change anything. It didn't, so I took it to the dealership, they replace the injectors in cylinder 6 and 8 and put in some new plugs (all under warranty).
My question is, could this be due to the Edge, or is this just a symptom of poorly designed injectors? I know injectors in the 2004 & 2005 models have had some problems, but I don't want to have to mess with this again if I can avoid it. So should I stop running the Edge program, or gamble?

No tuner can do any damage to injectors.
You saw the same problem on the stock tune.
All the injectors do is open an close at varying time peroids dictated by the computer.
If dirt, wear or electrical defect happens, it's not software caused.
I would not get into the habit of thinking you should never have a problem with anything.
Tires wear, shocks wear, hoses get hard, filters get dirty, gaskets fail etc.
You have to take ownership in stride and roll with problems until it's decision time to make a drastic change, otherwise you worry yourself to death over things than havn't happened yet..

Thanks for the info Bluegrass, your explaination makes sense. It doesn't seem likely that a tune counld cause damage to the injectors.
I have owed plenty of vehicles and am definitely not in the habit of thinking I will never have a problem. Two things I have not done are use a tuner and have injectors fail at 20k miles, so you can see where my concern comes from.
