Can someone explain
Hi wxscpo,
Yes, I do indeed write every single tune myself - although it is indeed true that, as Marc said, we do have employees here that we share a lot of knowledge with, and allow them to help do things like correct MAF transfer functions to correct A/F ratios (a very simple thing to do) when a vehicle is here on our dyno & other minor aspects, etc., as I want them to have a good understanding of the basics. But the bottom line is, I am writing every single tune that gets sent out of here personally. So that is part of the reason why it takes time, the other part is that because of the fact that we have specialized in this platform for over 15 years, the demand for our services here at Troyer Performance is high due to our expertise on this platform, and that simply isn't' available elsewhere. Most people are smart enough to want the best when they start modifying their vehicles, so people get to know about us and realize what we have to offer, and they want the best they can get. And it all takes time, and I apologize for that - but we will not compromise on the quality of our tuning here at Troyer Performance, or the amount of time that gets put into each individual tune, and *that* is one of a number of reasons why people are so happy with us.
And there will always be naysayers who claim a tune cannot be custom without your truck being on our dyno - hogwash. If they had ever had any actual experience with us, they would know better - the only people who say that are those who have not had an y experience with us. Much of it is actually from our competitors who are here under the radar pushing other products, or trying to figure out how we do it, etc., and so I am not going to go over this yet again for the 1000th time to teach others how to do this. Those who actually need tuning and want to know what we do can call us to go over this.
If anyone simply read our web site for example, just about the XCalibrator 2, they would have far better insight into this and thus know that we provide complete datalogging instructions written step-by-step for the first time novice, so that we can get any info we need on a particular vehicle. But once again, I am not going into detail here on this, it's a waste of my time that is far better spent doing what we do - modifying these vehicles for our customers and provide them with the support we are known for.
What we do is only possible because we have specialized in these trucks for over 15 years, and have tuned thousands upon thousands of them, literally, in virtually any type of configuration imaginable - far more than anyone else ever has, and that is also a large part of the reason that others cannot understand how we can do this - we have worked long & hard for many years to perfect a mail order custom tuning program to accomplish just that.
Anyone's vehicle that requires adjustments to dial in their A/F's, etc. gets that, that is all a part of our custom tuning package, as anyone who has ordered from us knows from reading the voluminous documentation that we send, which is also copyrighted.
I hope that helps your understanding a bit better, & have fun!

Thanks Mike for the response. I am more convinced that I went with the best when I ordered my Xcal II and custom tunes from you. I have been on vacation since late May and the tunes have performed great thus far. I did have a question in another topic though, not sure if you seen that one, about the RPMs fluctuating rapidly when the truck is going up hills while in cruise. I'm not talking steep inclines either, even slightly inclined hills will cause this to happen. It's not on every hill though that it's happening so that has me somewhat confused also. Most of the time I can drop the cruise speed down 1 or 2 mph and it will stop the fluctuations or I simply take it out of cruise control.
Some of the responses I received reported having the same issue while others mentioned that after installing your tunes their cruise control was able to maintain the speed alot better.
Any insight into what causes this for some while others report no instances? Thanks
