Edge & octane boost

I just recieved my Edge but my company pays for my gas and won't pay for 91 octane fuel. Can I use octane boosters safely with regular gas all the time with no issues? Does anybody else do it?

I wouldn't. You are playing Russian Roulette with your engine. Just run level 2. You will still get a good performance boost and improved shifting.

Will your company let you pay the difference?

Yea, that would be better. Usually, it'll only be a 4-5 dollar difference I'd use an octane booster only during one of those times you can't find good gas, or when you're engine is going rough because of a batch of bad gas.

Asking my company if I can pay the difference is a good idea. It would only be about $15.00 a week extra. Pretty much the same price as a decent octane booster. Thanks everyone.

Octane booster would not give enough boost and would be difficult to get consistent. The above suggestions are good. I run level 2 around town and on commute. Level 3 is better for higher rpms and I like to run it on highway trips.

Thumbs down Octane Boost

The first and Last time I put Octane boost in my 02 Screw, the CEL light came on. It aint worth the 3 or 4 bucks you pay for it!! You won't feel or notice a thing. Waste of Money!!!!

Hmm, I thought they cost more like 7-10 dollars. Or is it just the good ones? Also, you shouldn't use them unless you need the extra octane. Like getting premium for an 87 engine. To me, they're more like emergency things for when you get bad gas.

Exactly.

The NOS brand is preferred, IF you really need it to help with a chitty tank.

Any of them will contamintate your O2's with frequent use.

If that happens, you are looking at changing them prematurely.

Steer clear if you can.
