Hypertech 3 programmer and nitrous oxide???

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi

I have purchased a sudden impact nitrous kit (will be running 100HP) and I was planning to buy a programmer (Hypertech 111 programmer model # 41036) so that I could retard my spark advance, plus adjust my rev limiter and correct my tire height.

Currently, my F150 4.6 V8 will detonate under slight load going up a hill. I think it is because the tires are a few inches over size and Ford cannot reset the speedometre to match the new tires coz the tires do not show up on their standard computer. My tire size is 33 inch and my diff ratio is currently 3.55, but I am planning to change it very soon to 4.10.

Do you think it is a good idea to buy the programmer to help me tune the engine and hopefully tune the nitrous to the engine using the programmers adjustable parameters?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Best regards

John

look at an Xcal2? the hypertech will not do what you are hoping it will do, and if you do program your truck for NOS you'd better have a shift on the fly switch otherwise it won't run unless you are shooting NOS thru it.
