Edge display problem

Got an edge about 2 weeks ago. Installed and tuned to level 2. Everything worked good and truck ran great for 1 day. The next day the truck still runs great but the edge display doesnt. The screen lights up but it doesnt say anything. Just a blue screen and buttons. I called edge tech support and they sent me a replacement but they told me I have to get the truck reflashed by the dealer since I cant read the display to return the truck to stock. Has this happened to anybody else. Can I just take my truck to the dealer and tell them to reflash it without them asking to many questions? Is there a way I could return to stock without the display? Thanks for any help guys.

Do you know your trucks hex code? Did you write it down when you programmed your truck? I would hope 'Edge Products' could put your stock tune into the new unit for you so that you could revert back to stock.

My neighbor had the blank screen problem as well, but with her truck stuck in Level 1. She sent EDGE her unit for evaluation. They updated the software and sent it back with the stock tune intact. She had to provide her HEX code.

I have the EXACT same problem. Backlit screen but no text. My truck is stuck in level 3 and I can't return to stock. I spent hours on the phone with Edge support and they couldn't help me. They told me the same thing they told you. They are sending me a new unit and told me to go to the dealer to get my PCM re-flashed.

I really don't want to do this as I'm sure it will start a load of questions from the dealer. Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. According to the tech support guy at Edge the Lighting software stores your stock tune at C:\Edge Products\Lightning\Data. Not sure if this is true or not.

A friend of mine just went through this with Edge. They sent him a new one and talked him through the process over the phone. They had him email his bin file from the old one (data folder under lightning3 in c: drive) then they uploaded it into the new one. After a few minor bumps it worked great. He's as good as ever now.. Just call them, it can be done.. They did this about 5 days ago.

Hey HMFIC,

How do you like those BFGs you got on your truck? I'm thinking about going with those for my next set and am wondering how they compare with the stock rubber the factory puts on the 06/07s (the Goodyears).

How's the road noise level compared with the Goodyears?

Nice truck too!

Jim

There great tires. I've put these tires on the last 5 F-150's Iv'e had. I think the road noise is only louder during turns, but in no way is it annoying. On the 305's the ride is a tad bit stiffer due to the high load rating, but its fine for me. If you go with the 305's you need at least a 2" Leveling kit. If you don't want to put in a leveling kit, the 285's fit nice. IMO you can't go wrong with these.
