Superchip programming
I just used the Superchip 1815 Superchip on my 05 F150 5.4L tonight. I chose performance and all the standard settings other than tire size to 31". I filled it up with premium gas. Are there any other settings I should have changed like the shift points and shift pressure settings. I really didn't see much change. Does it take awhile to make a difference?

Im not sure about the 05, But I would run 1 tank of premium gas, on stock tune then tune for performance, Ive got the 01 F150 5.4L,3.55 gears with 35" and running the performance tuner 1715 superchip and it made it into a new truck..WOW..

Hi Tim,
The 1815 pretty much works right away - now it is true that it does take a few hundred miles to get the full 100% effects from it due to normal adaptive strategy, but you should notice it right away, basically.
However, you also have to remember that with that off-the-shelf tuning, you are getting maybe a 20 Hp gain on premium gas, and your truck weighs upwards of 3 tons - so that is not going to make it feel like a rocketship.
One of the things we tell our customers is NOT to try to judge any type of performance modification by virtue of the seat of the pants feel, especially in a heavy truck, as some people can't feel a 30 HP gain.
the way to do this is to do properly controlled before & after 0-60 times - do a set of 3 - first stock, then tune,d and then stock again - allow a 30 minute cooldown time in between, so that you do the 3 runs over a 90 minute time period - you will see the acceleration times drop, showing you that you have in fact increased power & performance.
One other point - any of the of the shelf tuners cannot provide the kinds of power & performance gains that we provide in our custom Troyer Performance tuning - we gain far more power and performance, all the time, at any throttle position or rpm - it's still not going to feel like a supercharger of course, but it will give you significantly more than the 1815 unit does - we carry them both, as well as many of the other off-the-shelf units, and none of them can compare to our in-depth custom tuning, as we have specialized in performance tuning the F-150 for 15 years, so we have more performance tuning R&D into this platform than anyone else, and it shows in our results.
I hope you enjoy your 1815, but if you ever want to upgrade to custom tuning that will not only gain significantly better performance gains, but also be able to be used on future vehicles with simple tuning updates, just give us a call at our number listed below.
