CAI and porting TB plenum tuning

will porting the TB plenum and upgrading the TB require a custom tune? I'm sure it will help, but is it necessary? It's not for the 3", but it is for the 3 1/2" so, what, too much airflow is a bad thing?

Generally speaking, on those 1997-2003 F-150's that does not cause a problem if done right and you are usign a good throttle body. What you are doing is simply opening up your stock TB elbow so that it will have the same size opening as a 75 mm throttle body when you upgrade throttle body's.

The main thign is to get a quality throttle body, and for those trucks we recommend usign the BBK units - we carry them in stock if you need it.

Good luck!
