Tuner and Bad Battery
Tuner and Bad Battery
Figured out this weekend that I had a bad battery (gauges were sweeping when I started the truck) and I have an Edge tuner program. This begs me to ask a few quesitons.
1. Why is a good battery critical to programming the Edge?
2. What are the consequences of not having a good battery when tuning?
3. Should I go back to stock and reprogram?

same problem
I had the same issue today except i dont think i have a bad battery, i drained it while playing the radio to long at a cookout. Once it died my gauges sweep also but oddly the edge would not turn off. I had the key out and the edge was stuck on. I decided to unplug it and plug it back in and it worked again. I decided to reprogram it just in case since i had to jump my battery prior to that. while i was programing my battery drained again and i had to re jump start it. After i jumped it again and took a ride, nothing felt the same as it was before. Could this be because of my truck was used to the previous tune and went through the proper drive cycles? Also i decided to take the edge out my truck and check to see if it could be updated as i never did that since i bought it. It searches for a new one but says there is none and the newest is july 2006, anyone know if this is right for the 2100? Also still looking for a good custom tune for a 2001 2v 5.4 and 4r70w tranny.thanks for any help
