Added AF1 intake /check eng light

I have the Edge Evo and realy like it.
Today I installed an AF1 intake and now I have a Check Engine.
Lean Bank 1 and 2
Do I have to return to stock and reset the stock program(disconect the neg battery and turn the lights on) and then reinstall the edge?

You shouldn't get a cell w/ 3in AF1.Go back through and make sure your connections are tight and not sucking air. Also make sure your MAS is in the correct position. You could disconnect your battery for 15min and you don,t have turn on the headlights but i think there is something wrong.I assume you never had a code before the AF1

try this- take edge off- erase codes and see if af1 pops up codes - even before i had my superchips 9100 on my 03 5.4-my af1 wouldn't pop codes-phil

I cleared the codes, went back to stock and drove a few miles no codes.
I went back to level 2 and drove for a while and no codes.
I have a 3 1/2" AF1 and all seems fine now.

Can you tell a difference with the Edge and using the AF1? I have a Edge also....

It has a better throttle response, and is louder.

Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that you need to have your truck custom tuned to Run a 3 1/2" AF1 or any other intake, because with the bigger tube, you're probably causing your truck to run lean. I don't think the Edge can correct for that either... If you do a search, I think you could find plenty of discussion on the matter...

You are correct. The 3.5" AF1 requires custom tuning. It should be removed until a custom tune can be obtained before engine damage occurs.

If I am not getting a check engine light, how could it be damaging the engine?

Sometimes it takes days before the PCM turns the CEL on. If you run the 3.5" AF1 without a tune you will get the CEL again, guaranteed, just a matter of time. If you ignore it and keep running lean you will damage your motor. It's your truck, treat it however you like.

get the 3" tube and you should be fine. 3.5" requires more fuel so you do not get a lean condition. There are quite a few settings that are adjusted to bring your AF's into line so I would imagine you need data logging and custom tuning to support that intake tube.
