First off, i am very happy with the xcal2 you sent with the csutom tunes(4.6 to 5.4 swap) but have only used 87 tune so far and just now i am getting time to datalog. It's been a darn busy winter! my question is, i am putiing in 488 gears and 33 inch tall tires. can i use the xcal2 to fix any speedo cal problems or is a 97 f150 fitted with a PSOD? Thanks.

No, I'm afraid you can't - there is no tuner of any kind that can correct the speedometer on any 1997 or 1998 F-150 - that is because that function is not even in the PCM until the 1999 model year in the F-150, so that can never be done via any kind of tuning on any pre-1999 F-150.
This must be done by changing the speedometer gear that is located on the tailshaft of the transmission.
Do a SEARCH here on that and you will find literally hundreds of posts on how to do that, OK?
Remember, in the F-150 1999 is the first model year that you can alter the speedo's calibration via the PCM.
