superchip for my 95?

I was thinking about getting a superchip for my 1995 f 150 with a 5.0L but am not shure if it is a good idea as the truck has 166k miles. i am worried it will be to hard ont engine cuz i dont want to blow that up. i really need more power i allready have a true duel exhuast and K&N FIPK but thats not enough.

Help me make a desision.

It really gets down to the actual condition of your engine - and those older 5.0's are known to go 250K+ miles in many cases, by the way.

What I would say is that as long as you have been changing the oil as you should (about every 3K miles) and as long as it is not using a significant amount of oil in between oil changes, and all your other maintenance is up to date, then sure, your truck can certainly withstand the power gains from a good tune.

Keep in mind that here we're not talking about dropping a supercharger on, we're talking about adding 20-25 horsepower - which will certainly feel good, but it's not enough to hurt even a 166K mile engine as long as it's basically healthy, not using a significant amount of oil.

If you'd like to go over this in more detail, feel free to give us a call at our number listed below, and thanks for your post!
