Should i buy a used Edge Progamer?

I found someone selling a programer (the 2100) that would work with my truck. I have a FULL STOCK 2001 5.4. what i want is to get better MPG and i do tow a boat from time to time. It is coming off a 5.4 truck with same grears but different tires (35s).
I can get kit for $250. and need to know if i should get this if i plan only plan on adding Cold air, E-fan, and cat back kit.
what do i need to make sure it comes with?
what do i need to do to install it?
any input is GREAT!

Just make sure it is returned to stock before you buy.It should come w/the programer, mounting pod,2 connectors, one for OBD and the other to plug into your computer and the manual. No tools required for installation. If you tow you will like the level2.Oh don't count on a gas mileage increase b/c you will be in throttle more

Hi.

Agree - make sure the previous owner unlocks the unit by returning his truck to stock. Otherwise it's a paperweight, unless/until Edge can do that - $$$?

You can download the manual from Edge's website.

Good luck.
