It's hard to tell how fast but after the speedometer stopped gaining it felt like maybe 10 or 15 more mph. It took almost 1/2 mile to get this speed on level road.

I must be lucky or something because my 01 does not have a speed limiter.

That would be a first.

In reality, you do. Either tires, driveshaft or aerodynamics.

The first two would not be too pleasant ...

He's doing about 110 mph in that pic if he has stock tires. I hit 120 on my 1999 4.6 with oversized tires at about 4500 RPM.

I agree with BLACKNGOLD because I can pin my truck all the time. I am not sure what the speed limiter is set at but I don't think I have hit it yet.

I know the tuner choice is dependant on the individual, but you obviously like that superchips. What changed after installing it?

All truck have the speed limiter. You might just not be able to tell its kicking in. On my older truck I couldnt tell when I hit the speed limiter, but I knew it was there. On my new one it will go pretty good up to 103ish and then it just stops...it will actually lurch you forward in the seat a little when it kicks in and just stops going.

You guys just haven't hit it yet, when you hit around 98mph in a stock truck, it pulses the ignition and injectors and feels like a turd, even on my 4.6L I could feel it stop pulling, man that was depressing...Since my Edge, I haven't been quite as young and dumb (a whole 6 months ago) I haven't tried that or 1/4 mile, I'm too worried I'll find some ***** cop on the empty road by our military base.

On 99 to 03, not sure of the newer trucks, you can bring up a digital display on the odo that shows your speed in mph. This will read past the 100 limit of the dial. My 99 with the limiter lifted hit 128mph. I have the 5.4 3.55 gears 2 wheel with some mods on 16s. I have had it there a couple times.

Sled...

Masonball, Its like a new truck, better torque, better throttle response and better power, Ive had the superchip for 4 years and have been running the 87 octane tune, to cheap to run the good stuff, Its a weekend driver, Im fortunate to have a F550 company truck to work in all week, and with gas as high, heck for $0.20 more I can run the good juice, and wow what a change in shifting, pulling power and getup. And seems to me gets better gas milage and ive recalibrated the tire size and speed, when i keep my foot outa it.I just raised my truck 5" , 2" suspension, 3" bodylift..and went from a 265/70R/17 to a 315/70R/17 and I was really surprized at the differance the performance mode made..Before when I gased on it it was like a lag or a tiny bog with the bigger tires, now it goes when I punch it even with 35" tires, If you were local I could take you for a ride, my friends think Ive went to a 4.10 gear, which I was thinking about...
2001 5.4L, 3.55 gears, K&N catback exhaust,K&N FIPK kit with heat sheild..1715 93 octane performance tune
heres a pic..
