Edge low idle

Sometimes after driving in level 2 (87 octane) and I move the shifter from drive to park, the idle drops to 400rpm (almost stalls out) and then goes back up to about 580rpm. Went back to stock and no problems. Tried to up my idle rpm in the custom tunes. The menu has a range of "0" to "300". So I tried "5", and the idle rpm's shot up to 1700rpm???? then tried "350" rpm's went up to about 2100rpm. I don't get it. Does "5" mean that somebody actually only wants to raise their idle rpm's by 5rpm or does that number represent some other value? The manual has no information on this.

Sorry, I cant remember for sure, but i think 5 means you are raising it 5. I set mine at 750 about 9 months ago, and it stays there.

I don't know what you mean "raising it 5"? Does that mean raising it only 5 rpm (not 50 rpm,500 rpm, 5%...??). My option only allows me to change it 5 to 350 and I don't know what value it is implying. It doesn't have a "rpm" or anything else next to the number. You would think it would be what idle rpm you want (ie 750 rpm), so I can't figure out what the heck 5 to 350 means. when I put a low number in, like "5" it idles up to 1700rpm. maybe my box is justed screwed up (or me)

5 to 350 means how many RPM's above stock you want your idle to be. IE.. stock is 550rpm, you put in 300, new idle is 850rpm. The reason yours idles so high with this setting is because you need to update your EDGE. There was afix for this awhile back.

Well, I talked to a so-called Tech today. He had to put me on hold to find out what the numbers ment (you would think he would already know?). He told me that "5" ment raising your idle rpms 500 above stock. So, if stock was 500 and you selected "5" your new idle would be at 1000rpms. I told him mine went to 1900rpms and I had the new updates. Couldn't give a reason why and I think his original answer of what the numbers (5 to 350) ment was B.S. Not too impressed with their so called tech support.

I this was the case, when you entered 300 or above your RPMS would be over 30, 000. Which is impossible. look at my previous post to get the REAL answer.

I understand what you are saying and I agree...but what the heck did the Tech (the real expert, the ones who designed the thing) get his info from? Again, I have all the current updates, and when I select "5" for the idle rpm and it goes through it's reprogramming of the PCM, my rpms shoot up to 1900 rpm...at idle..in Park. you would think the Tech would just say.." hay man you might have a defective box. (?) lets do some more research and fix the problem..he just appeared not to give a crap............I have to say I'm not to imressed with Edge. I think if I had to do it all over again I would go with the Troyer. I just got the Edge for my 04 and it didn't work out of the box. I had to call them up to do some update so it would work on my 04'. You would think after 3 years they would of figured it out. Don't mean to complain, but I'm not all that impressed with them.
