Alright I want to make sure I get this correct so I have a few questions. I received a disk with my blank Xcal, it's SCT Resource CD - Version 1.3 and includes LiveLink 3 and LiveLoad. My questions are;
A. are these the most current files and should I load these onto my PC or should I go to the SCT website and dowload and install the following files;
SF Strategy Flash Device & XCalibrator 2 Flash Tool
SCT Live Link Data Logging Software: UPDATED 03-08-2007
Application: 9400 Custom Tuner or 9415 SF Strategy Flash Device
This is our Pass-Through data logging software. With this program you can connect your Xcalibrator 2 flash tool to your vehicle, and your laptop using a standard USB connector. This is also the same program that will be used to create custom configurations for your On-Device data logging parameters.
SF Strategy & XCalibrator 2 Flash Device Live Link Software - Full Install
SCT Live Load 3 - UPDATED 01-05-2007
Application: 9400 Custom Tuner or 9415 SF Strategy Flash Device
This program is designed for the end user to update their 9400 Xcalibrator Custom Tuned device with end user adjustability. You must receive the *.LL3 file from your custom tuning dealer to program onto your Xcalibrator 2 flash tool. This program can also be used to convert a 9415 Strategy Flasher and turn it into a 9400 Custom tuner. Note: This is a ONE-WAY operation, and you cannot go back to the Pre-Loaded SF Flash Device.

B. The tutorials on SCT's website indicate Live Link has to be loaded first and then the USB drivers. Is that the correct steps?
I have the 9400 and I have already downloaded (but not installed yet) the SCT drivers that say they are required to use the 9400 device with Windows XP.
Just want to make sure I load the most current and correct files. Thanks in advance and here's a beer for ya.

I just don't know if I still need to go to the website if the disk has the same data on it.
Thanks for the response.
Hey Bud;
ALWAYS go to the website & download - these will in most cases be the latest/current files you will need.
See, when a CD is shipped, it could well be quite dated as it may have been mastered a while ago...
Always load the drivers first, then the app(s).
I've been through all this several times before
Have fun

Hi wsxcpo,
In short, don't worry about any of this right now (though it is perfeclty natural to wonder).
Here's what happens:
When we send your tunes via email, we will also send you all of the instructions, tips & even links to step-by-step tutorials that will literally walk you thru each and every single thing you need to do, step by step - we make this very painless for you to get your tunes via email.
I recommend that you simply wait until you get your tunes because they are also accompanied by more documentation from us that takes you thru all of this and more, designed for the first timer, step by step - so all of that info will come from us along with your tunes in the same email that contains your tunes.
Don't worry, you will have all of that info & more and it will come with your tunes, so that you will know exactly what to do.
