Edge Problems

97 Expedition 5.4, EEF2100.

I purchased the Edge Evolution EEF2100... Did exactly as the instructions stated. The unit does power on, then asks me to agree to the license... Then it freezes on "Please wait while Edge Evolution initializes..."

So I thought maybe I got a bad one... returned it... second one, same thing.

I did update the first one via edge's lightning software (it already had the most current firmware/software, but I re-flashed it anyway)... In the lightning software, it didn't even have the HEX#... so I assume it never got around to even reading the information from my ECU.

I am thinking that possibly the previous owner used another module to tune it with because he had done nearly all bolt ons and that may be what's causing the edge to mess up.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'd call Edge and see what they have to say. I know it's the same engine but wasn't aware the PCM was the same configuration for a Expy as for a f150.

Yup, Just call edge. If nothing else, (if your truck's already tuned) they might make your evo a stockwriter and you can start from scratch.
