Hi & welcome.

Unfortunately, this being Friday ...

The Spoon Department is closed.
Please try the Self-Help Department.

Thank-you.

I'd rather the XCal2 and custom tunes from Mike Troyer, not just out-the-box Edge tunes.

I have the Edge on an 05 for about 15,000 miles and am very pleased. Your truck is different, so hopefully some of the Edge guys with the earlier engines will chime in.

My truck has the 5.4 and the shifting is firm on its settings in stock.I have not felt any harsh shifts but that depends on what you consider harsh.I beleive you can adjust the settings to not shift as hard?it took
30min to install w/ reading directions. You only have to run one wire from OBD to Edge. After you figure out how it works it is very quick to change settings. As far as gas mileage i don't keep track and if your truck responds like mine you won't keep track either.I am very happy w/ mine.

Thumbs up Harsh? $HiFt1ng...

WHat is a "Harsh" Shift...

Its funny you bring this up...today of all days....

In another Life, I worked for good friend of mine at Jersey Cylinder Head, doing welding, porting intakes... head jobs... etc...

I haven't seen him in almost 4 years... I stopped by today... totally random... (well... actually I was just out drivin around customizing edge tune!!)

So I took him for a ride in my truck.... I was only about 50% into the throttle... and she shifts from 1st to 2nd.... And he says.. "You already put a shift kit in it?" No Lie.

You can make it shift as hard or soft as you like....

seriously.

Me too, also some people have had big problems with the edge programmers.
