belt slip with Edge programmer
belt slip with Edge programmer
When My truck shifts from 2nd to 3rd, under full throttle, I can here the belt slip. It happens every time in this senario. Whats the deal with this? Does it happen to anyone else. The only other mods to the performance is a K&N intake system.
If your running one of the Edge program Levels, it tightens the shifting.
On an old belt, the engine rpm changes so fast under the shifts that the driven assesories can't change as fast ie the water pump, the alternator, the power steering pump etc.
The belt slips a short time until all catch up.
Put a new belt on. If you still have a problem then back off on the shift firmness a bit.

Mine slips too. The replies to a thread I had in 04 all said go with the Goodyear gatorback belt.

Does the belt slippage affect performance? Will the gator belt cause the shifts to be firmer. I only ask because I thought the slip was normal and I kinda like it (sounds like a turbo blow off valve "alittle"). But if its hindering my performance it will have to go.

It is an 06, so I doubt the belt is too worn. I have the programmer set at level 2. I guess I will try the gatorback belt. Seems like it was the fix for everyone else.
Thanks for the replies.
