Thermostat and superchips

Should I put a lower thermostat in my truck if I am running superchips?

Thanks

I agree - no.

Your stock t-stat is a 192-194 degree unit - you *could* use a 180 degree unit if you liked, but there is no real benefit, it just allows coolant to circulate a bit sooner, but does NOT actually lower the operating temperature.

For best peak power, you really want a coolant temperature in the 200-210 degree range, this is why NASCAR Cup race teams set up their cooling systems so the engines run at those temperatures.
