Rev limiter
Rev limiter
I was to know how much the Superchips tuner will raise my rev limiter. Cuz i ran my truck on the dyno and it redlined at 4600 RPM, I find that rediculous and emberassing. I want to have it rev to at least 5500 RPM is this possible with the superchips or edge programmers. And how much RWHP should i expect With the superchips? And i want to chirp into second gear...is that possible with the shift points program on the superchips?
This link should answer some of your questions...

Hello itimebomb89,
Actually, your rev limiter is higher than 4600 rpm, that is simply your WOT (wide-open throttle) upshift point in the automatic transmission.
However, yes, we do raise the WOT upshift points to a much more reasonable level, exactly how much depends on the vehicle and it's mods - we also allow you to make further adjustments to the shift points on your own as well.
With what you want, and of course to get the best power gains anyway, you'll want to go with our Troyer Performance custom tuning rather than any off the shelf device - our tuning delivers a lot more power & performance gain than any off the shelf type unit does, and we go much further in depth in the PCM's programming than any off the shelf type device can as well.
With regard to being able to chirp the tires on a WOT 1-2 upshift, that depends on a number of things, not the least of which is how well that particular transmission is operating and thus how much line pressure it can actually generate.
What we recommend is installing a Transgo shift kit along with our custom tuning, as that way the transmission is now physically capable of flowing enough fluid volume and thus filling the clutch packs quickly enough, in conjunction with the changes we make in the PCM's transmission programming, so that you can have a nice linear progression in shift firmness - lighter at soft throttle, and then progressively firmer as you give it more & more throttle, just as it should be. This is also a lot cheaper than a valve body.
However, it is true that sometimes we can make it chirp the tires via tuning alone - so if you want, we can go that route first and see if your tranny is capable of doing it with no mechanical mods to the tranny itself - and if so, fine, and if not, then you can always throw in the shift kit later.
With regard to how much power you will gain, that varies, as it depends on the engine, what type of tunes we do, what level of octane we are tuning for, as well as the mileage on the vehicle and it's maintenance, etc - so there isn't any one number to expect, it doesn't work like that. Suffice it to say that our custom tuning will provide the largest safe & sustainable power & performance gains that can be had via tuning, as we have specialized in these vehicles for over 15 years now, far longer than anyone else - we have custom tuned more of them than anyone else as well, so we know them very well, and we are well known for our results.
Just in general, custom tuning is the single best bang for the buck performance enhancement you can make, as nothing else for the same or less cost will do more for the performance of the vehicle - now that odes not mean that tuning alone is going to turn it into rocketship, just that proper thorough tuning like we do is the single best bang for the buck.
I hope this info helps a bit, & the best thing to do at this point is to give us a call at our number listed below & we'll be happy to go over all of this with you in proper detail.

Thanks,
I will most likely use the 91 octane setting most. I dont mind spending an extra $5-$7 on my fill-up Im so glad for performance upgrades like these.
This truck was really underpowered when i got it. I added a flowmaster american thunder exhause and a K&N 77 intake, and an airraid poweraid, throttle body spacer. I got it to 215 horsepower and 289 ft-lbs of torque to the wheels. But still not impressive. It will take a new f150 in a 1/4 mile by about 3 lengths.
Here are my speks,
2000 f150 single cab shortbed flareside.
5.4 liter triton
flowmaster 3" american thunder exhaust
K&N 77 Intake
Airraide poweraide TBS
Push button Start
I take really good care of my truck, changing oil and filter every 4000, Never had any mechanical problems. I had water get in a coil pack once. thats about it.
I really want to put more bite in my truck. Im getting beat by hondas on occasion. And i know my truck has alot more potential with 330 cubes under the hood.
