Talking Got an Edge, have question

Got my Edge today! I put it on Level 2, and I adjusted the tire size to 2559(275/65/18), the axle ratio to 3.55, and the top speed to 115.
My question is, have any of you changed the shift points? I noticed that when it
shifted into 2nd gear, it seemed to die for a split second, and then it went. It was hard enough to throw me forward. Other than that, it was great. I've read that it takes time for the cpu to "learn" the tune. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated!

The shift point adjustment is to adjust at what speed it shifts in normal driving. The shift pressure adjustment adjusts how firm the shift is at wide open throttle. I never change the shift points, but I adjust the shift pressure to +12 on all the shifts. I set the shift rpm at 5250, 5250 and 4800 on the 3-4 shift. The max rpm is set at 5650.

When you set the shift pressure to 12, does it shift real hard? I want it to be firm, but not back-jarring!

I have +12 as well and it's fine for normal driving. The first time it'll feel wierd compared to the weak stock shifts, but it's OK.

bluejay432000 do you know is this for just the edge or for all tuners I have a flashpaq 1815 and at 35 mph my trany is hunting for a gear (from 3rd to 4th) when i am light on the gas pedel (trying to stay at 35mph) and i was just wondering if i could just up the shift point a bit to fix the problem.

Thanks John

I am not familiar with any other tuner than the Edge, but if your shift point is adjustable in that tuner, it would be worth a try.

The other question about shift firmness, it is strictly what you like. I tried +16, backed off to +12. A guy i work with has his at +18. I would try +12 and if it is to firm for your likening, back off some, say, +8. I suspect different trucks respond a little differently to the settings as well.

I would be cautious about taking the custom settings all the way to the max. With the wrong combination of things it may be possible to damage your truck. There is a reason why they put that disclaimer in the manual about changing those setting at your own risk.
