Angry Wtf !!! Edge Wtf!!!

Hey has anyone hooked up an (EDGE-2100) to a 1998 F150... I go to change my tire size and gear ratio and it say's "option not available" The whole reason I bought this programmer is mainly to change that problem... I'm running it on level 1 just for the shifting , it works great for that... Any info would be great...

thank's

Call edge. They still haven't revised the boards to allow it. They will have a fix for it in March (they said)

You don't have to write that stuff in the bottom each time you post. You can just make a signature. Click on user cp at the top of the screen, then click on signature. You can then place your info in the box, and it will post it at the bottom of each post if you select "show your signature" at the bottom.

The 98 150's have a gear that needs to be changed in the transmission. I'm not sure of the year cutoff where it went to a sensor instead of a gear.

Hi.

Hoo boy... some before-purchase research (here & calls to the vendor) on actual device capabilities would have saved you some grief.

Reminds me of the tranny temp display issue on pre-04's.

'98's don't have PCM access for speedo corrections.

Oh well - lesson learned. there's always the Classifieds.

Good luck.

Cheers
Bubba

Yeah, but they're working on getting it to where you can change it on the evo.

Hi.

Care to explain?

If the function is not in the pcm to begin with, then how can an aftermarket tuner change it?

Got a link?

Thanks.

Cheers

Change the edge's programming to correct the speed readout on the edge.

yeah bubba I did the research , as fas as reading the Edge web site for application and model # and it clearly states you can change tire size and gear ratio, The super chips web site for the model 1715 clearly states the 1715 will only change gear ratio and tire size on 1999 and later trucks, At the the place I got my edge from gave me a good deal, only $290.. So now I own a $290 shift kit...
