Hi.

Well, perhaps. Try looking on the rirht front passenger door jamb below the top hinge - 4-alpha code (e.g PCE2). That's for 97-03 F150's - don't know if it applies to the Mountaineer.

Shouldn't have to take out the pcm - sticker should be visible where it's mounted. Also not difficult to remove if you have to.

Here's another link to try:

Worst case - get a blank Xcal2 shipped & read the code with that.

Cheers

Hi firedude,

Yes, as the others said, look in the front door frame, on both the driver and the passenger side, for a code sticker, 3 letters and 1 number.

And the PCM is very easy to get to, by the way - it's simply two 11mm nuts, one on each side to remove, and then disconnect the wiring harness - then the PCM slides straight out of the firewall so you can see that code sticker.

Worst case, we can send out the XCalibrator 2 blank and have him just plug it into the OBD-II port to read the strategy,a nd then tune him from that, sending him the files via email, that's very easy to do.

Hope that helps,
