Why would you put it back to stock to change the oil?

It is safer if it is going to the dealer and you can't stand rifgt with it. Trust me, it happens, they sometimes mess with the computer without saying anything to you.

You have a bad dealer, if they do junk to your truck without asking. I hate it when they switch cd's in my cd changer. I'd be pissed if they screwed with my computer. It's one of the more reliable parts of my truck!!!!

All you need to do, is just tell them to ONLY change the oil, and leave the computer alone. Then if they screw it up, it's on them.

I do not go back to stock when I go in for an oil change, myself. But, I did when I went in for an emmissions inspection, and sure enough, when I went to load level 2 back in(still on the parking lot), it had a different stock program in it. I had to go through the start to finish stock download. So I was glad I had set it back to stock before going in.

No, only when the calibration has been changed, which it had.

I returned my truck to stock but left the monitor hooked up. I suspect the played with it during the emission testing. When I got back in the truck, i tried to go to level 2, and got the message that the Edge did not recogize the calibration. That was a first for me. So, I unplugged the unit, turned the key on, plugged the unit up, and got the calibration reading. It was different from what I went in with. I downloaded that calibration as my stock program and everything was fine. I am convinced had I not been on a stock program going in, I would have been screwed.

Right on! Always go back to stock if they are going to touch anything other than an oil change, and to be safe, any time it goes in period. they do have curious monkeys working in the shop and occasionally you may have someone that just wants to deal you misery.
