Super Chips Max Micro Tuner
Super Chips Max Micro Tuner
This may be a stupid question to some of you but i need to know because i a m not sure. Does installing a max micro tuner program onto a 99 eb expi cause the truck to run lean and if so is this a bad thing? I had a guy at a local shop tell me that it is very bad to have your truck running lean. I just need to know before i install it. Please Help somebody
running lean
I'm sure someone else will chime in on this but...I have not heard of that specific tuner causing the engine to run lean but I do know that some aftermarket tuners do cause this. That is why it is a good idea to have the air/fuel ratios checked when you install a tuner. A dyno shop can usually do this for you. It is not good for your engine to run lean but I don't know how lean is too lean.

Superchips is a very reputable company. Although you would gain better results with a Troyer custom tuned XCal2 on your specific vehicle, you will be fine with the unit you are inquiring about..If in doubt give Mike and crew a call and let them put you more at ease on this issue....
I agree. My understanding is the standard tuners, like Superchips and Hypertech use pretty conservative programs. Maybe the guy at the local shop also knows the Superchips lets you read trouble codes and doesn't want you to have the ablity to fix your own truck.
thanks guys
I appreciate the info from you all. I believe this guy was just talking trash because he also quoted me labor in the amount of $330.00 to install my Air Force 1 intake kit. Well i will install the Superchips next Wednesday when the magnaflow cat bacl exhaust gets in. Wish me luck and thanks again for your input.

The Air Force 1 intake kit takes approximatley 45 minutes for a normal intelligence chimpanzee to install... If you have ANY mechanical skills at all it may take 30 minutes start to finish. If someone quoted you a price of $330.00you should walk back in that place and hit him squarely between the eyes with something...What an @ssho!e .....Your teasing, right ?????
